Dr. Paradise holds a B.S. from Pennsylvania State University, a Diploma from the Foreign Service Institute of the U.S. Department of State, an M.S. from Bucknell University, and a Ph.D. from the University of Virginia. His teaching and research interests include ethical issues in counseling, cognitive behavioral counseling, and research methodology. Dr. Paradise previously served on the graduate faculty of Catholic University in Washington, D.C.  He has experience as a university counseling center counselor, a counselor at a hospital psychiatric clinic, and a program evaluator.  He has served multiple terms on the editorial boards of Counselor Education and Supervision, Journal of Counseling and Development, Counseling and Values, and Journal of Mental Health Counseling. He is a licensed psychologist, a member of the Academy of Counseling Psychology, an LPC, an NCC, and a certified school psychologist, and a licensing board approved counselor supervisor.  He has served in administrative positions as the first program coordinator of counselor education, the department chair, the college dean, the vice chancellor for academic affairs and provost, and the first university’s executive vice chancellor.  He is the author or coauthor of five books and over 60 professional articles.  His research and scholarly articles are published in 36 different professional journals.
