Randall Scott began the program in visual impairment in 1981, the first such program in the State of Louisiana. His areas of interest, in addition to visual impairment, is research in the area of parents of children having disabilities and typical and atypical child development. Since 1999, he has been the chair of the Department of Special Education and Habilitative Services. His professional experience includes adult rehabilitation, middle school teaching, and administration of programs for people with visual impairments.
